Want to Volunteer?

There are many non-profit organizations and faith based groups in Acadiana that offer disaster response and need volunteers.  AVOAD seeks to eliminate unnecessary duplication of effort through cooperation, communication, coordination, and collaboration in the four phases of disaster: preparation, response, recovery, and mitigation.

United Way of Acadiana serves as the official AVOAD site for volunteer registration in the Acadiana region. If you are interested in being involved in disaster response, please register as a volunteer with United Way of Acadiana. As volunteer opportunities are identified throughout our region, you will receive information with details regarding specific opportunities in your area. If you have any questions please call Ji’Carla Martinez, Volunteer Mobilization & Special Projects Manager, United Way of Acadiana, at (337) 706-1226.
